I dabbed a little bit of the thermochemistry paint on a gray shirt.  Heating the paint with either my breath or rubbing it caused a color change.

I could not get the heat pad to heat up at all.  I tried using a variety of batteries and couldn’t get any of them to heat the pad. The closest I got was hooking 3 9 volts in parallel as pictured above. It seemed to heat a little bit, but it was so little that it couldn’t cause a color change.

Above are a variety of design I made using the grid I have in mind.  The “off” color is green with the most basic design consisting of all green triangles. Heating a portion of the grid would cause a triangle to change color from green to yellow.  This would effectively let you “draw” design on your shirt using heat from the heat pads.
